Another Summer of Fun and Inclusion for VT Students

What a beautiful wrap up of the 2023-2024 VT school year!

With Laura's help, it was the most "put-together" end of year ceremony we've been able to give our students. We celebrated all of the milestones our students accomplished and opened up the floor for our students and staff to share their highlights from the year. Many said that the special activities and field trips were their favorite and our teacher said that having a special training for classroom methodology for students with disabilities was her highlight.

After the school year ended, VT joined in with the village summer camp activities. This is the third year we've combined our VT students with the VBS program with our village kids and it's been a testament of God's grace and the growth we see in our kids! With so much stigma around disabilities, we never know how parents of village kids will react to our students being in close proximity to their kids but each year we're amazed at the sweetness of relationships built during VBS!

Laura states:

"God has been very good this summer, I have been able to see his hand working in each of the students. We had 4 weeks of special summer activities, we went for a walk, for ice cream, to a water park, and 2 weeks of camp in the center. Camp began 3 summers ago. Today I remember that day that the decision was made on how to integrate the VT students with the children who would attend from the surrounding villages and ours. It's beautiful to be able to see how everyone manages to integrate, seeing the children helping someone to walk or carry a wheelchair, or helping with some activity. It is so nice! I see God working in all this. Even to integrate Dhurata and Merita (VT students) to help in the kitchen to prepare each day's snack.

I know that God is in the middle of this, seeing each student participate in the activities, seeing their joy, their laughter, enjoying each day of each proposal was a great blessing!"
